Hole #1

Hole 1 Description:

Mild starting hole best played with a tee shot down the left side. Succeed and you will be left with a mid to short iron onto this ample green. Avoid the deep bunker fronting the right side. Two putts and you’re on the way to a great round.

Hole #2

Hole 2 Description:

Easy looking par 3 that is longer and harder than it seems.  Take plenty of club from the tee to get it on the green.  The green breaks less than it appears, so play all putts a little straighter.

Hole #3

Hole 3 Description:

Take a moment to take in the view from the tee for this 3-shot par 5.  Hit driver as far as you can, avoiding the bunker on the left.  Second shot should hug the left avoiding bunkers on the right.  Then it’s a short iron onto this small, two-tiered green.

Hole #4

Hole 4 Description:

Deceivingly hole that demands a long tee-shot favoring the middle to right side as the slope takes the ball to the left.  Second shot will be a long to mid-iron onto a well-protected green.  Use enough club to clear the front bunker.  The green slopes back to front, so be careful with downhill putts.

Hole 6 Description:

The shortest par 4 on the front.  Plan your tee shot to leave your favorite distance to this small green.  Favor the right side of the green for your approach as all shots will release left.  Careful with the first putt, this green yields a lot of 3 putts.

Hole #7

Hole 7 Description:

This long par 4 begins the hardest stretch of 6 holes on the golf course.  Hit the driver as far as you can and you might be able to get home in two. Otherwise lay up short of the creek and try to make par with a one putt.  Be sure to miss the greenside bunkers and play to the middle of this large green.  Take your 2 putts and move on.

Hole #8

Hole 8 Description:

This par 4 plays longer than the posted yardage.  Favor the left side on your tee shot to avoid the bunkers on the right.  The approach shot will play slightly uphill.  Have enough club to clear the deep bunkers fronting this green.  All putts break from the back of the green to the front.  Par is a good score. 

Hole #9

Hole 9 Description:

A real test.  Favor the right side off the tee to avoid the lakes left.  Second shot that avoids bunkers on each side of fairway puts you in position to get to the green.  One of the largest greens and among the most severe, it slopes back to front.  Be sure your first putt gets close, enabling you to close the first nine with another par. 

Hole #10

Hole 10 Description:

A tee shot you just have to trust, placed over the left side of the forward tee and you will be in perfect position.  The second shot is a long to mid iron a bit shorter than the yardage.  Better a little short as most shots will bounce on.  Long is trouble.  Two putts will get you started on a great second 9. 

Hole #11

Hole 11 Description:

The toughest hole on the course.  A good tee shot lands in the middle of the fairway as far as you can get it.  Decision before the second shot is to go for the green or layup.  A very benign looking green, but be careful.  There is more slope from back to front than is apparent, so be cautious with downhill putts. 

Hole #12

Hole 12 Description:

The end of a stretch of 6 tough holes.  Off the tee must be in the fairway to give you a any chance to get to this green.  The second shot plays a little downhill but depends of the wind.  The front bunker is not good.  The green is predictable and two putts end the toughest stretch on the course with a good par.

Hole #13

Hole 13 Description:

The first par 3 on the back has a wide green that invites good shots. Just hit it straight and avoid the bunker front right and left. Club selection is critical. Once on the green remember that the front half slopes severely to the front.

Hole #14

Hole 14 Description:

First par 5 on the back may seem intimidating from the tee, but trust your shot to the middle or right of the fairway to be in good shape.  If you’ve hit driver well you can go for the green in two, just miss right to avoid the bunkers.  A layup results in a short iron onto this big green.  Avoid the swale on the left if the hole location is right or back.  2 putts are a good thing. 

Hole #15

Hole 15 Description:

The shortest par 4 on the course, but off the tee will play much longer since it is uphill.  Stay short of the large cross bunker on the right.  The approach plays a club longer because it is uphill as well.  This is a small green protected in front by a large bunker.  Get it on in regulation and par should not be a problem.

Hole #16

Hole 16 Description:

The tee shot is downhill to a fairway with no bunkers but trouble left.  If you hit it well, on your second shot you can clear the creek that runs across the fairway.  Otherwise, layup to the end of the fairway for a 160-yard uphill shot to the green, the shallowest on the course.  Choose your club wisely.  This green slopes from back to front.

Hole #17

Hole 17 Description:

The shortest par 3 on the course yields the most aces!  Club selection is critical on this downhill shot.  Don’t be long.  The bunker behind the green almost guarantees bogey or worse.  If the hole location is on the right side, aim for the middle.  If you come up short, par is still a possibility.  If you don’t get an ace take par and head for the finishing hole.

Hole #18

Hole 18 Description:

Tough finishing hole.  Hit all you’ve got off the tee and you may have an opportunity to get home in two.  Avoid the big bunker right side of fairway.  Second shot is also uphill.  Bunkers on right and left of the green make it a tough shot.  On the green allow for a fairly severe slope from back to front.  Par will probably win the press.
